Turkey Trouble

Our resident turkeys were grateful for my "outhouse trek" interruption earlier this morning.

A lone coyote was making a selection as I interceded, merely with my presence.

I watched the long-legged intruder for several minutes, in the 27 degree temp, sans coat.

I love watching Canis Latrans move...their gate...their confidence.

He respected me and ditched his efforts.

He and I exchanged glances as he slipped into the pines to the north.

Good way to start the day...saving a life or two.

Reflections of a Road Trip

Spring is a time for renewal.

Rebirth.

That's exactly what we did last Saturday.

My friend, Amy, and I made a trek downstate to get not one,
but 3 dogs, to add to our kennel.

Ice ~ great granddaughter of this guy...

And two male Alaskans, who were nothing short of perfect gentlemen.

Amazing race history backgrounds, and good solid well-behaved dogs ~
which are perfect for our tour business and for our kennel.

Broccoli, (L) who is the size of a small horse.

And, Piston, (R)

Between the 3 dogs, and a cooler jam-packed with culinary goodies prepared by Amy,
not to mention fresh Amish baked goods stuffed under the seat,
you would think the fun would stop there.

It didn't.

We added in a little fella, who was just weaned from his Mama at 8 weeks of age.

Levi, our new Boer goat buckling.

Was there curiosity?

Yes.

There was even a little licking of the lips...in a longing fashion.

But once the prey drive settled down, we got into over drive and got our precious cargo home,
via the blue highways, of course.

Then the real fun began.

Until tomorrow ~ God willing,

Spring in Amish Country

Shorn sheep, baked goods, wagons, jams and jellies.

And the children mastering horses.

These are the things I love.

All important aspects of a trip among the Amish.

Until tomorrow ~ God willing,

Rachael Unmarried

Off to get Rachael's new beau (100% Boer buckling) downstate.

Perhaps now she will realize she is really a goat.

I hope not...

Until tomorrow ~ God willing,

Spring Round Up

When most of us are kicking up our heels, celebrating spring...

This gal has a job to do.

Actually, two of our Buff Orphingtons are sitting on nests filled to the brim with eggs.

Those tiny chicks and their Mama's will be the beginning flock for our new little farm spot,
located right next to our Wee House.

This will provide a nice site for public viewing during our Farm Market.

Stay tuned...there's all kinds of exciting changes blowin' in the wind.

Until tomorrow ~ God willing,

Dare to Dream

“The longings of your heart are not incidental, they are critical messages. The desires of your heart are not to be ignored, they are to be consulted. As the wind turns the weather vane, so God uses your passions to turn your life. God is too gracious to ask you to do something you hate.”

Max Lucado ~ Just like Jesus

Step out in faith.

And see how it feels.

You'll know...

If it is your calling...

Your heart will fill with a warmth unlike any other...

Until tomorrow ~ God willing and waiting for you to follow your passion,

Cloud - A special Mustang

See why our heart reached out for our Mustang, Nauish.

Adopted from the BLM.

See the entire story of Cloud ~ and learn about the life of a Mustang.

It's an amazing documentary by Emmy-winning filmmaker, Ginger Kathrens.

It's real, and raw.

Winter revisited

Warm sunny t-shirt wearing days are put on hold...

As the weather man predicts more snow.

My clothesline will get a respite.

My outhouse will be a tad chilly...

But our dogs will excel.

Until tomorrow ~ God willing,

Spring Ritual

As the sun is rising in the East this morning...

I have visitors at the Wee House.

Five Tom turkeys and their gals.

Their intentions are made known.

And they use all of God's chiseled glory to achieve their outcome.

Puffed and proud.

Until tomorrow ~ God willing,
