When my husband and I retire we are going to buy a Motorhome and I hope that your 40 acres is one of the places we can call our home on the road God willing.Marciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17181845535183498831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5858807769208269777.post-85228226471836349182014-01-23T15:22:06.835-05:002014-01-23T15:22:06.835-05:00Oh my! I love hearing from you, and seeing what's going on in your neck of the woods! Yes, Dicky Bird, I "left out" the story ~ it was horrific to say the least. Angel Armies were certainly there to make sure everyone walked away. The horses did well though...it could have been worse. We are very dry here as you may have heard. It happens and I pray that the winds don't combine with any "dumb human" stunts and cause a fire. Cause in these mountains this year it would be catastrophic for sure. Enjoy your snow and visitors. We have an abundance of pesky black birds and I laugh everyday when I scratch the chickens and when the birds see it they dive right in. However I have a cranky lot of chickens and they actually run defense on the black birds causing them to fly off to safety. I am with the reduction of my goat herd getting in some long neglected spinning and weaving. Learning again why I love it so! Happy days to you and Russ. That is a blessing - most who have all the "modern" conveniences would find it hard pressed to feel the same. I can image what happened with the hardware malfunction. One time, my daughter tied her horse up to the fence, the horse was spooked by something and jerked away - pulling out the board (old fence) spooked again and ran - only dragging the broken board behind....lets say, he was no longer on our farm - way down the road before he figured out to stop running...another of life's lessons learned the hard way!
