24/7/365

I know I'm excited...and the topic of retirement is wearing down.
Playing out.
Like Elisabeth Kubler-Ross' five stages of grief, I have gone through each step,
blindly feeling my way.
But you see...it has been a long journey for me.
One of intense prayer, contemplation, questioning, wishful thinking, and now... it is here.

I'm still waking up and wondering if it is all just a dream.

This was one year ago today...please click on link below.

Now, I'm home.

Sunday Evening Angst

It's been with me my entire adult life.

That feeling.  That angst.

That feeling I would get on Sunday afternoon...

It would persist throughout the day and into the night.

It signaled a change.

Apprehension.

Depression.

Knowing I would have to leave my home on Monday morning.

And begin a whirlwind week, away from those I love, during the daylight hours.

But that's all changed now, due to my retirement.

The feeling is gone.

Gone.

And the sense of freedom has filled me with joy.

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4

Holiday Farm Chores

Christmas day, away from home visiting family, I thought of Russ.
He stayed back.  He stayed home.

Family gatherings and farm chores don't always mix.

This year, it was no different.

I used to question.

But no more.

I understand the need for structure.

The need for consistency.

Our animals thrive on it.

And the rewards are given back...

Tenfold.

Happy New Year to all our friends.

Those of you who visit this daily snippet of our lives, do understand.

And know the pleasure of living simple.

And living with less.
Which, in the end, is so much more...

Best wishes for the New Year...!

Happy 2011.
