Under God

Happy Independence Day everyone!

Sharing a video from my eldest son, Charlie's, Christian film company.

You'll want to turn off the soothing music on Playlist before starting.

I hope you have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July.

God Bless our troops!

Less is More ~ Tale of a 4-dog Team

It's true.

Four sled dogs could take you 'round the world.

And back.

You need leaders with brains and dedication.

Who love spending time with you.

Those who may be little, but oh-so-mighty.

And those who have the soul of a sled dog.

We are blessed to have 5 such 4-dog teams.

It is purely our pleasure to care for them while on this earth.

Thank you Lord ~

Until tomorrow...God willing,

God's Special Gift

This Monday, I finally headed out the gate of our 40 acres.
It had been a while...a dozen days or so.
I hadn't left since the night I came home from my office, officially retired.
I didn't want to leave, but we had an errand.
Picking up a pup.
Little else could get me to leave our place.
But...what a glorious treat the Lord had for me that day.
We viewed an eagle.

Sitting so majestic.

Overlooking the Jordan Valley.

While sitting in the truck, looking at him perched nearby, he reminded me of so many things.

Freedom.

Our country.

Our constitution.

Our rights.

I needed to see confirmation of these God-graced foundations.

And I saw them in this young eagle.

It was a strong symbol that all would be o.k. in this issue-rocked world of ours.

We will persevere.  God will lead the charge.

But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Sunday Evening Angst

It's been with me my entire adult life.

That feeling.  That angst.

That feeling I would get on Sunday afternoon...

It would persist throughout the day and into the night.

It signaled a change.

Apprehension.

Depression.

Knowing I would have to leave my home on Monday morning.

And begin a whirlwind week, away from those I love, during the daylight hours.

But that's all changed now, due to my retirement.

The feeling is gone.

Gone.

And the sense of freedom has filled me with joy.

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4

Little Rune on the Run

Saturday night always whispers a sense of excitement.

This past Saturday was no different.

Little Rune was on the run.

It's not the first time...

Since he first arrived this summer, along with Sookie and Jackson,
he has always been the one to slip out and "explore".

Usually Russ catches him with one or two tries, puts him back and all order is restored.

However, Saturday night was different.

And we decided Rune has always been different...smaller...smarter.

So...he is now loose on the farm.  Free to roam.

He's set up shop just inside the barn, and hangs out with the cows during the day.

And they seem quite happy with the situation.

Monday Sunrise

The Lord sure knows how to grab my attention in the early morning hours.

I'm so blessed to live where I do.

How I do.

Let freedom ring.
