So, so Thirsty

Truth is, I'm thirsting for knowledge.

Biblical knowledge.
Knowledge of the ages...stored for easy retrieval in my humble little brain.
Such a big task, that will continue until my last dying breath.

Some days, I'm so antsy to do the work of the Lord.
I wonder if I can accomplish such a feat on our "40"...

And my desire to bear fruit is overwhelming at times.

But I know my biggest job is to abide in Christ, having taken the path of the cross.
Daily.

Whether it is with my husband, my neighbor, my family, the lady at the Post Office, etc. etc.

Your will, Lord.  Not my will.

I pray for this daily.

"The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked."
1 John 2:4-6
Until tomorrow, God willing.

Sherry, I just finished reading the latest "Guideposts" and went out to water the poor animals, then came back in to sit down in the air conditioning for a bit and just saw your lovely post. Thank you!

The pictures, as always, are beautiful, but so are the sentiments.

Sherry~ As you know, I am walking the "your will be done". God is faithful in it. He is also faithful right where He has you~ praise Him for the desires, for the time of peace in your life, for the longings. He has mighty plans for you. He is using you in greater ways than you know right now. At this time you are holding me up. Again, thank you for the reminders. Such a beautiful, inspiring post. Terri

Thank you Mary Ann, Terri, and Michele Katherine...such wonderful, kind words. This post came from a total feeling of ineptness. I love the Lord SO much, and I feel helpless to convey that love to people in my life who don't have a personal relationship with Jesus. I know I just have to "be"...to abide, and let Jesus do the rest. But I also have homework, and into the scripture I dive, enthusiastically. I must be armed with the word of God, to fight off the doubt that is cast by so many. Wish me luck. And Terri...what kind words, that I hold you up. Truth is, your anointed words echo to me every waking moment of the day, telling me I'm on the right path. The path to Jesus...
