Prayer in the Dog Yard

This last weekend was no different.

It was time for another dogsledding tour...

The dogs always know.

They can tell our movements are different on this day.

More focused perhaps, as we set up equipment and scurry about awaiting our visitors.

Our trio of visitors came, and enjoyed the dogs...

and the dogs smiled back.

And all was well...

until...

Our youngest dog,

our newest dog, "Skunk"
long after the run was through and we were ready to call it a day...
after only running miles that you can count on one hand.

had a seizure.

Not just a seizure, but the King of All Seizures.

It was nasty.

It was scary.

And there wasn't a thing we could do.

Except...

Pray.

And pray we did.
For when it happened, I didn't reach for a fancy phone to call the vet (or 911).
God is who I reached out to, without hesitation, without deliberation.
I simply called to God to "...please help us God...please help us God."

Our tour guests looked on.
I worried about the adorable 7th grader
(who wanted to be a "vet" when she grew up)
viewing such an anomaly.

But soon, it was over...and our dog was slowly recovering.

I whispered "Thank you God", to which our tour guest, Steve, replied..."Amen...".

God was with us, it was certain.

And in retrospect,
I can't imagine not having my Heavenly Father to turn to in times of trouble.

Both hubby, Russ, and I turn to Him daily, for our every need.

In good times and bad.

And He is always, and I mean ALWAYS, there for us.

Even in the dog yard...

Until tomorrow, {always}God willing.

(And yes, our dog "Skunk"  is doing very well.  We are hoping it was a "fluke" and will not resurface...  The good news is... she was made into a house dog before this happened, and now we can keep a good eye on her 24/7/365.)
