That Still Small Voice

It's funny how it goes.
I've never been more filled with the grace of God, but it's "stuck" inside of me...
I go to write,
and I smile,
lift my hands from the keyboard
and fold them on my lap.

I truly have so much to say, but don't know where to start.

Perhaps that is why I love winter.
Winter slows you down...to the speed of life.

My life is ordered by survival.

By peaceful surroundings.

Evenings by the woodstove makes you grateful for the land around you.

And what it provides.

You see God's handiwork in every blink of an eye.
And hear His still small voice, whispering to you across the snow covered fields.

Until tomorrow, enjoying this summer day, God willing.

Saturday Morning

Musher friend coming today...

Even the oldsters get excited.

Or not.

We hope your Saturday is swell...

Again, God willing.

Beyond the Gate - Part Two

My kind husband granted my wish,
and headed to town to run my errands.

And I was able to stay home, once again.

Where everything I need and love resides.

My snowy winter wonderland.

God is good.

Winter Approaching

It won't be long...

Before winter covers my world.

And makes my walk to the outhouse, a journey.

The Woods are Calling

I've got wanderlust.
I want to go deeper into the woods.
Into "our 40"...

It happens every couple months.

I tell Russ we need to close up the "main cabin",

and go live in one of the other, smaller cabins ~ sans electricity or running water.

The smaller the better.

Life is so simple without the many distractions, encumbrances.

I long for simple days.

It doesn't have to be flashy.

Beauty for me, is simple.

But now, we have a winter wrap of snow.

And dog teams grace our trails.

So I'll just have to stay on the trail.

And endure the hard winter a tad longer.

Until the warmth of the soil has us all squealing in delight.

Until tomorrow ~ God willing,

Woodswoman
