B and B on our 40

Believe it or not,
we are still picking blackberries.
Zip included...

Even after the first frost, or two.

In addition,
we have some very welcome guests joining us "in the briar patch"...

Compliments of our well-placed trail cam.

It looks to be a hearty fall on our "Forty".
Bucks and Blackberries...

Until tomorrow, God willing.

Congratulations on the harvest -- the deer look a little on the slight side -- but we're used to corn-fed whitetails in Nebraska! :) Great photos.

....and do you deer hunt? "Bucks and Blackberries" -- sounds productive to me!

Deer? What the heck are those? EVERY time my husband goes deer hunting he sees nothing, therefore he comes home with nothing. Nothing then fills our freezer:(

I am used to Michigan deer and I think they seem a little skinny for the fall. Drought? It doesn't look like they could make it through a winter with that start.

Yes, it was delightful to see this young bachelor group of bucks together. It won't be long before they go on their own, preparing for the heat of the rut. These boys are going into rut, hence the lean look. It is funny, FG Cyn, how you can "catch" these boys on film, but once the official season is upon us, they become quite elusive.

Every month, I intend to go to Cabelas and get a trail cam. We would LOVE to see what the llamas are doing at night, and who is nosing around the chicken yard. I used to want to spy on the ducks! Your deer are beautiful, and i hope they live through the winter!

How very cool to have a trail cam! Love the photos.

I'm amazed that you are still picking blackberries. Mine all fizzled out by August. We had a very hot and dry summer and I guess they didn't like that!

Hey Sherry! Awesome Buck pictures. I chose you (and your blog) for an award. :) You can read all about it in my latest blog post. Have a wonderful week!

Patty - thank you so much for the award. I appreciate it more than you know. And thank you to everyone for the kind comments. We picked up our trail cam on Amazon.com (I looked at many, and chose the one with the best reviews, and in our price range.) Go for it ~ you'll have a ball!!
