Wringer Wash Day

It's back...

The time of year that clothes can be done in open air.

I love using my wringer washer.

A gift from my good friend, Ellen.

One I treasure.

I love watching it, hearing it, and being part of the process.

From start to finish.

Topping it off with fresh dried clothes on the line,
suspended by wooden clothespins.

(Today I did two loads.)

One of summer's many sweet gifts.

Until tomorrow, God willing.

Royal Runaway

Anyone who knows, or works with horses,
understands this can happen.

Even during a Royal Wedding.

Lots of excitement for an animal to overcome.

Glad the situation was brought under control.

(You may wish to turn off Playlist music while video is playing, for full effect.)

An Ordinary Boy

Imagine...

A 12-year old that is happy to be without TV,
a fancy phone, video games and other gizmos.

A boy who loves the woods.

Outdoors more than in...and enjoying the gift of observation and tracking.

Listening to his mentor.

A boy who knows the sheer exhilaration of freedom.

Free from society's demands and distractions.

Loving the land, the animals, the farm, and all it teaches.

It's an awesome ride.

One journey we are willing to partake.

Hay Day

After many days of rain, the sun made its appearance at day break.

The dry forecast clears the way for hay to be delivered.

Hard to believe it was a month since the last delivery, in late March.

It's a blessing to do business with like-minded folks, such as Gary

Also hard to believe tomorrow marks Week #4 that this fella has been gracing our lives.

I hope you are enjoying a Farm Friday and a reprieve from the storms.

I know we are~!

Blessings to all ~
until tomorrow, God willing.

Old Glory

"I pledge allegiance to the flag

of the United States of America,

and to the republic for which it stands,

one nation under God,

indivisible,

with liberty

and justice

for all."

3 Months, 3 Weeks, 3 Days and 3 in the Morning

According to an old farmer's adage, that is the gestation rule of thumb for pigs.

Our gal, Sookie, delivered Monday night...after almost 4 months of waiting.

It's a small, but mighty litter.  Her first.

And she's a good Mama...

The papa, Jackson, is now a "proven" boar.

And happy about his role in life.

Soon, they will be reunited again, and the circle of life will continue.

Jackson is a good boar, gentle and kind.

"Nothing is so strong as gentleness and nothing is so gentle as real strength."

Simple Moments

Come from the heart.

We love our simple moments.

"The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever."

Give Us This Day...

It's Maple syrup Monday.

Pancakes adorned with our berries from last season.

And our homegrown Maple bacon.

A good jump start for the day, for young Jordan and Russ.

Happy Easter to All!

He

has

RISEN!!

He said to them,
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved,
but whoever does not believe will be condemned."

Trail Cam

Today, Russ and I set up our new Trail Cam.

To video...

Who knows, we may get a shot of a little fella like the masked bandit above.

Half the fun will be the 3 mile walk on our trails each day to see who has been by for a visit.

While setting up the Cam today, we saw lots of activity.

Deer.

And we interrupted a coyote who had made a kill,
and had a quick dinner ~ a beautiful Blue Bird.

I'm excited to see what the Trail Cam picks up, situated on a tree,
back by our Bear's Den cabin.

I can't help but feel a party goes on at night, under the cover of darkness.

Now, we'll know...

Until tomorrow, God willing.

Easter Eggs

God's special coloring.

Sure makes it easy on Easter egg prep work.

Thank you, sweet hens of ours.

Until tomorrow ~ God willing.

Facebook

It was time...to follow the scripture that has graced our Website for years.

"Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody."
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

But please folks, contact us if you wish to connect.

We would love to hear from you.

By email, Blog comment, or smoke signal.

I may be back on Facebook, as many friends are just a click away.

But sometimes easy isn't always the answer.

"It was terribly dangerous to let your thoughts wander when you were in any public place or within range of a telescreen. The smallest thing could give you away. A nervous tic, an unconscious look of anxiety, a habit of muttering to yourself--anything that carried with it the suggestion of abnormality, of having something to hide. In any case, to wear an improper expression on your face...; was itself a punishable offense. There was even a word for it in Newspeak: facecrime..."
- George Orwell, 1984

Until tomorrow, God willing.

Cock-A-Doodle-Doo

"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered,
"this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times."

Immediately the rooster crowed the second time.

Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him:

"Before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times."

And he broke down and wept.

It Ain't about the Bunny

Although adorable...

I hope folks focus on more than just the bunny this coming Good Friday/Easter weekend.

It's my prayer that people are called to Christ.

And don't turn their back on Him.

As our Wee House worship leader, John, notes, Jesus is a gentleman.

He will knock on the door.
He won't kick it in.
He won't bang on it with his fists until you respond.

He will knock.

Will you answer?

John 3:16

Until tomorrow, God willing, following the path of the cross.
